I chose this recipe because as a busy mum to a large family, it’s a really simple and affordable meal that we can all enjoy together. I love that you can use the same recipe in the oven, the slow cooker or on the hob, making it really versatile to suit every household!

Ingredients (serves 6)

Oil for frying
1kg pork shoulder or leg, diced
1 large onion, chopped
2 tbsp flour
2 JAZZ™ Apples, peeled, cored and chopped
500ml dry cider
Tarragon, fresh or dry
3 tbsp crème fraiche
Salt & pepper

Method

    • Preheat oven to 180C.
    • In a pan, heat the oil until hot.
    • Season your pork shoulder with salt and pepper before adding to the pan to brown on each side.
    • Remove the pork from the pan and add the onion, frying for a few minutes until soft.
    • Add the pork back to the pan along with the flour, stirring for a few minutes.
    • Add the apples and cider and bring to a boil.
    • Remove from the hob and place in the oven for 2 hours until tender.
    • Remove from the oven and stir in the tarragon and creme fraiche.
    • Serve with crushed potatoes and seasonal greens.
