It’s been a busy month for our JAZZ™ Apple Foundation with three new award winners announced. Continuing our efforts to get more young people active, we’re thrilled to help Haymoor Junior School in their attempts to develop their swimming team and are purchasing some new equipment for their budding youngsters. The team has been unable to compete locally in the past due to a lack of kit so hopefully, the new equipment will ensure they get to go up against the best in their area and beyond.
Another upcoming sports team gaining the attention of the JAZZ™ Apple Foundation is Parley Petanque Club in Dorset. Set up just three years ago, the growing club has increased its membership from 6 to 41 and is now working with local schools to teach juniors. With the arrival of a younger crowd, the club was in desperate need of new boules and bags for the youngsters to use as they currently have to use adult boules. When we were contacted by the club, we were only happy to help and quickly organised six new sets of boules and equipment bags to be sent. Hopefully, this is just the start for the members as they enhance their skills and increase participation at the club.
The third new arrival to the JAZZ™ Apple Foundation team is Stamford Amateur Boxing Club, based in Lincolnshire and run by three committed volunteers. The club encourages participation from all groups, genders and sections of society and as well as being ABC affiliated, hosts competitive boxing bouts featuring athletes from across the country at the weekends. The community organisation requested funding for some new sparring equipment and protective headgear to keep their members safe when training and once again the JAZZ™ Apple Foundation stepped in to offer its assistance.
And finally, with the football season in full swing and the league tables starting to take place, our JAZZ™ Apple Foundation award winners Bourne United Under 9s received a mid-season boost when their new football kits arrived. The boys have been using the same old kit for the last few years now and as it was in need of a refresh, we had to step in and help out. As you can see from the picture the boys are delighted with their new JAZZy kit so hopefully, it can inspire them on the pitch even more as they’ve won the last 11 of their 12 matches and are absolutely flying at the moment.
We’re thrilled that the Foundation can help out so many young athletes around the UK and are excited to watch the members and organisations grow.
