We’re delighted to reveal that the latest recipients of a JAZZ™ Apple Foundation award are Stamford
& Rutland Netball Club based in Lincolnshire. The club is solely run by volunteers and caters for
children aged from five to fifteen as well as adult women. Currently the burgeoning club has 150
children and 30 ladies on its books and is looking to expand its ranks after establishing a waiting list.
When the club got in touch with the Foundation, we knew straight away that we had to step in and
help. So, we did and as well as supplying the club with ten new netballs we have also covered the
costs of putting two of their volunteers through level one and level two netball coaching
qualifications. Hopefully this will enable the club to increase the standard of the coaching it offers
and increase their intake as more qualified coaches means more children are able to learn to play
netball. As well as keeping the next generation active through sport, the club is also teaching
members about the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
