Those of you who keep a close eye on our social media pages may have already heard the great news but for those of you who haven’t, we’re delighted to reveal that we’ve teamed up with Team GB Olympic long jumper and all-round superstar Jazmin Sawyers.
As part of the exciting new partnership, we’ll be shining a light on the fantastic world of athletics and in particular the art of long jump. Fortunately for us, we have the brilliant Jazz on hand to share her advice and tips on what it takes to become an Olympian, and why she believes more people should take up the sport, which has seen its funding cut in recent years and is often overshadowed by the higher-profile sprint events.
We’re sure you’ll all be pretty familiar with Jazz and in particular, her singing following her heroics when competing on ITV’s The Voice UK in 2017 but it’s on the track and field where the multi-talented sports icon really shines.
Although still only 25-years-old, the Team GB athlete has already competed in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and European Championships, and has studied for a law degree at Bristol University too. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Jazz now splits her time training between Loughborough and Florida and has her sights firmly set on her next challenge – the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics which will now take place next year.
Alongside our other fabulous ambassador Jazz Carlin, over the next few months, we’ll be sharing top tips from Jazz on how everyone of all ages and abilities can get up and active again following a difficult few months stuck at home. Eating well and living a healthy lifestyle go hand-in-hand and sport can be a real driving force behind this so hopefully some of the advice from our ambassadors will spur others on to follow in their Olympic footprints.
