We\u2019re always looking to grow the JAZZ\u2122 Apple Foundation by increasing our award winners so are delighted to reveal that August saw the addition of a number of new inductees \u2013 Groundwork Northeast & Cumbria and four cyclists who are taking part in the Ferblanc cycling challenge.<\/p>\n
Groundwork Northeast & Cumbria were founded in the North of England with the purpose of bringing communities together and making their lives and their neighbourhoods better. They are a green environmental charity that are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is green and where equal opportunities are provided despite backgrounds or circumstances.<\/p>\n
Groundwork recently partnered with Durhamworks, which is a programme aimed at supporting 10,000 16\u201324-year-olds not in employment or education by December 2021. As part of the award, the JAZZ\u2122 Apple Foundation has provided funds to cover the cost of activity days for Groundwork\u2019s mentors and their mentees. The activities such as gym taster days and art sessions will help massively in improving and enhancing their skills, as well as building their confidence and self-esteem. We\u2019re thrilled to be helping such a fantastic organisation and look forward to witnessing the journey their mentors and mentees take towards a better life.<\/p>\n
Next up to receive a JAZZ\u2122 Apple Foundation award was four fantastic amateur cyclists from Lincolnshire who are riding 560km in four days as part of the Ferblanc challenge. The charity Ferblanc exists to advance and promote neurological research and the team of four led by Celia De Blasia will be donating all the money raised to this worthwhile cause.
